What the invention covers

Ordinary language, taken from the patent disclosure. Not a quotation of the issued claims, and not legal advice.

  1. 01

A dosing system you can align by eye

A barrel with measurement markings and fill indicators, and a colored seal that slides in the barrel. When the seal lines up with an indicator, the color is visible inside that indicator.

  2. 02

    Preferred form

A fluorescent seal. A transparent or semi-transparent barrel. Black printed markings. Hollow shapes, such as circles, or pairs of lines, sized to the bevel of the seal.

  3. 03

    Devices and a method

Syringe and other dosing-device forms, and a method: connect the system to a reservoir, retract the plunger, align the seal in a fill indicator, and deliver the agent.

Design patent

U.S. Design Patent D900,310, issued October 27, 2020, covers ornamental appearance in this family. Additional design applications were filed.

Materials

Materials research has included the Mediprene 500M thermoplastic elastomer series, which is made for syringe plunger seals and can be compounded in color. Supplier literature for that raw material references USP Class VI and food-contact grades. That is not a finished-device certification. Biocompatibility, sterility, and packaging evaluation are part of the planned program.

The patent figures also show a manufacturing sequence: compound a colored material, mold the seals, mold the barrels, and print markings that include fill indicators, numbers, and lines. That is the sequence in the disclosure, not an announcement of a factory in operation.

Composite of patent figures showing plunger seal shapes, syringe views, fill-indicator alignment, a dosing method, and a manufacturing sequence.
Figures from the patent disclosure: seal geometry, syringe views, fill-indicator alignment, the dosing method, and a manufacturing sequence.

Regulatory status

Vividose is a medical device in development. Planning and budgeting have included FDA establishment registration and a 510(k) submission. No 510(k) clearance number exists in the company record used for this site, and no FDA approval is claimed. Do not read this website as clearance to market a finished device.
